I am always thinking of new ways to help my readers, especially those subscribed to my weekly inspiring newsletter. So what better than to summarize a book, including the best quotes and lessons contained with the pages?
I’m going to start with some of the best life lesson books that are out there.
This is going to save time because it will replace the necessity of reading the book. Just read the summary instead and take away the best and most inspiring parts in 15 minutes or so. I relish reading, however, I don’t possess as much free time as I once did. This is a common problem for many.
I have so many books which have changed the way I think but will I re-read them? Probably not. If I had a short synopsis, containing the essential message and the key points this would be useful.
For my subscribers these brief book notes are going to be free, at least for now. This may change in the future, so get in while you can. Get access here (if you’re not already a subscriber).
These summaries will not be book reviews, rather I will distill the information into useful, motivational lessons. In a short time you’ll get everything you need to take positive action in your life.
Some of the famous books I’ll include will be:
- Steven Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective people
- As a Man Thinketh by James Allen
- Acres of Diamonds by Russell Conwell
and many, many more will follow!
Imagine what you can learn from a synopsis of books like these! I’ll guide you to applying the lessons so that they are practical. This is exciting!
I will try not to give my personal opinion when writing these 15 minute guides. rather, I want to note what the author says and thinks. I’ll try to present the message in a way that is easy to understand and apply. This is going to make a huge difference in your life!
I am aiming for a maximum of 15 minutes reading time and that should be quite manageable.
The main topics I plan to consider will be anything related to self improvement. This will include inspiring and motivating books that teach you to be more confident and successful in all areas of life.
I am particularly interested in some of the following areas of self development:
- Improving self esteem and confidence
- Becoming more productive
- Becoming more successful
- Improving social skills
- Realizing your potential
I hope you share some of these goals and will find these book summaries helpful in improving your life.
My goal is not just to write a summary, rather a mini-guide presenting the lessons and philosophy of each book. This will enable you to make real progress and personal growth will become a reality. So often we just spend time reading and not enough time applying the ideas that books give you.
This is going to change!
I will let you know when this new service is active. My subscribers will find out first, as always.
For now here’s a sample of the kind of things you’ll see in my 15 minute summaries…
These are two quotes from Acres of Diamonds by Russell Conwell:
Your diamonds are not in far distant mountains or in yonder seas; they are in your own backyard, if you but dig for them.
Greatness consists not in the holding of some future office, but really consists in doing great deeds with little means and the accomplishment of vast purposes from the private ranks of life.
The core message of finding opportunity in one’s immediate circumstances and working diligently to achieve success remains valuable, even if some of the specific views expressed in the book may need to be understood within their historical context.
And this lesson is from “As a Man Thinketh” by James Allen:
Lesson 1: The Garden of Thought
“A man’s mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild.”
- Your thoughts are seeds – plant them wisely
- Daily thought-weeding practice: Identify and remove negative thoughts
- Nurture positive thoughts through reading, learning, and conscious choice
- Exercise: Spend 5 minutes each morning “gardening” your thoughts
I’ll go into more detail in the summaries and write in a way that will make these guides valuable to you.
